What We Do

The LMC provides leadership for the GP community in Borders to support the delivery of primary care medical services, ensuring working conditions and environments are mutually beneficial to both patients and GPs.

The LMC provides professional advice and support to members, informing them of developments relevant to the profession and representing the collective views of the GP body in decision-making that may affect workload or services.

A key function of the LMC is advising the wider NHS Borders organisation, raising GP issues with the Board and negotiating remuneration, conditions of service and income streams for practices.
